Speedo cable retaining screws - what thread?

What thread do the speedo cable retaining screws on the gearbox use?

I assume that they are BSW or BSF. They look to be about 5/32" without measuring them.

I replaced the speedo cable today. One of the screws is missing, and only one has a lock washer. I have found that you can buy three new ones off ebay but they come without lock washers.

I have access to alot of lock washers, but the problem is that they are all metric.

Are they 5/32" UNC? In that case I can use a 4mm lock washer. 5/32" and 4mm are almost exactly the same size give or take a few thou.

4mm lock washers fine, i cant say iv seen any used fer years on them tho, they usualy just put them in and nip them up tight,
