Speedo cable Defender 1992

Yo dudes

My Ex Army Defender 1992 has a speedo in KMs. I have a replacement speedo to go in in MPH. Now the daft question. The white plastic end of the speedo cable that goes into the speedo, does this unscrew or is it just pushed in? I cant get the dash off far enough for a proper look as the cable is stopping me pulling it to far out and im having problems getting my fat fingers onto it. Be helpful to know how if its unscrew or pushed in.

Think you kinda squeeze it and pull, last time i had mine out it popped off when i pulled the dash out

Unclips, it's fairly tough to get off or on - infact the first speedo cable I bought i thought was faulty as couldn't get it on - just take your time and it should be fine.

You may be able to give yourself more cable by pushing it through from engine bay - you'll see where it goes into the bulkhead behind the dash. mine had a bit of slack that I could push through.

Thanks Lads, much appreciated. never thought of trying to push cable through bulkhead, cheers for that. Yeah no worries mate i will as long as this MPH one works lol
