I am running 235/85R16 on my TD5, without a spare; I'd like to re-install the spare on the load space, but it is 265/75R16. Running them through a tyre circumference calculator they have 99.6" and 99.4" respectively. On a 2WD car this is presumably not an issue, but would this cause the diff to "wind up" on a TD5?

I'd rather not have to buy a new tyre for the spare (& possibly a new Wolf rim at the same time?) if I don't have to.

TIA

Mine is not any of the above. It is just a get you home spare. I do live in a very rural area and do not go far in my Landy these days. Been through many MOT's and not been mentioned.
If you travel motorways and main roads recommend what @kermit_rr says.
The difference you have is only what may be what you get when one tire is worn more than the other.
Any way when it comes to the diff should a smaller diameter wheel be be fitted it won't care. It just thinks it is going around a corner all the time.:D

:D

The spare has 120/116 S, and the 4 road tyres are 120/116 Q; both speeds (112 &100mph) are well outside the operating range of the TD5 that I reckon I'll be OK on that front - but thanks for making me check! :)
