I'm getting to grips with the 'adapted' wiring on my 1989 110.
Few left over plugs I can't deceiver despite searches and Haynes on my knee. Some ign live/perm live etc but they look genuine so interested to know if all spares or if she has lost something through the years.

Red and red/white plug?

2 x green/white plug?

White/orange plug?

2 x purple and 2x green plug?

Thick brown plug

All bullet connectors look genuine all behind dash flailing about?

My 200tdi has a collection of wires behind the cowl over the ciggarette lighter - I understand these are for optional extras that mine doesn't have (power for radio maybe?)

INSULATE all remaining plugs and wires FIRST.

IF you are sure you have plugged in everything correctly, go over the wiring 5 times to make sure, leave the -ive battery lug slightly loose, have someone there ready to disconnect it in case of emergency, turn the ignition and look for operation of engine lights etc., keep an eye out for any signs of shorting etc. Look in the engine bay, under the dash and under the Landy for any trouble.

Try for a start and again look for any trouble signs. Let the landy run for a bit, make sure all the gauges work and then start the process of checking lights, horn, wipers etc.

If something does not work, then start trouble shooting from there.

Everything works as it should they must just be spares? I'll utilise the permanent live with a volt meter and bury the rest then.

Cheers

There's a few spare wires to account for optional extras. Use the green wire (switched live, fused) for the voltmeter if you're fitting one- using the permanent live will make the voltmeter be on constantly which may not be what you want ;) I know some models got a voltmeter, others a clock which would obviously use the purple permanent live wire.

Red/white is instrument illumination, which you'll need if you add extra gauges etc.
