sorry but another newbie looking for help

I have just purchased a p38 dse my first landy that i have ever had, very impressed on buying it from the bloke, drove lovely until i tried to start it frm hot thought the battery was going to go flat. Have also noticed as well that it is quite lumpy whe cold and seems to be overfueling in the headlights behind me, poor car drivers. Has anyone had this problem before
