If you have a TD5 Defender it may be worth taking it to the main dealer and getting them to reset the ECU.
This will also download the last factory software that was produced.
OK it will cost you £100+VAT but l had my 2005 Defender (manufactured late 2004) done last week and it runs a lot better, smoother and more lively.
Beware though, that this will delete any aftermarket remap that is in the ECU.
