Does any know how or where i could get hold of any software etc to reset faults codes etc?? I've seen them for others but never a freeelander.

What type of engine is it?
There is a reader for the MGF/TF which should do the petrol Freelanders too, think they were about £65 on Ebay:
ELM327 OBD OBD2 CAN-BUS Interface Scanner
The ELM 327 interface is the latest and most powerful member of the ELM family and is compatible with a wider range of protocols than before:
· J1850 VPW
· J1850 PWM
· ISO9141-2
· ISO14230-4 (KWP2000)
· ISO15756-4 (CAN)
Functions:
· Reads and displays all trouble codes and their descriptions including generic and manufacturer codes
· Clears all codes and turns off the check engine (MIL) light
· Arrange, add and delete codes to your own specification
· Views maximum, minimum and current values of codes
· Exports data for spreadsheet formatting and printing
· Monitor and record real time data and produce graphs
Real time data includes just some of the following:
· Absolute throttle position
· Air flow rate
· Calculated load value
· Coolant temperature
· Engine RPM

nice one lr . . . .have er chat wiff rover ron accy, dunt quote me on this but fink you can reset fault codes on the gaylander using diagnostic socket un linking out certain pins [if ya feel confident] i can do it in the ecu , but would not give out that info ,as if ya git it wrong yer up the swanie. . . .
