soft top

After a sad sale of a 2003 defender, i've been trying to find a new 90 td5 2b imported to my country. Due to the dipl. position of wife, i can only import (tax free) a new vehicule with prize restrictions. Means that budget just can let me purchase only a soft-top Defender, with some extras that the old def was equipped.
Does the soft top version -groovy 4 me- is not a pain in the neck? Does it has 6 p seating, can i fit a rigid fiber-glass top instead of the canopy?
Is it loud at 100 km/h? I don't want that bulkhead division? Thanks in advance 4 your replies.

You can easily fit a truck cab or a full hard-top to this type of Rover.
The vehicle is fairly noisy at 100km/h, depending on the type of engine, whether sound-proofing is fitted and the tyres (military tyres are louder than the engine).
There might be seats in the back, there might not. You can easily install bench seats in the back. Forward-facing seats can be fitted but these take a little longer to fit and are difficult to get in and out of due to there being no side doors.
The rear bulkhead is there for a reason - if you remove it the body will probably fall apart. I have seen LRs with the bulkhead cut away: they had triangle-shaped strengthening pieces fitted in to stop the body sides flexing outwards. But this is a major job - not for beginners

Personally, I think you should keep it as a soft-top. It's the only way to travel
