Snow tomorrow and -9C by Tuesday - Telegraph
So it seems that snow is on it's way again, and one of the primary reasons why we have the rangies as without it we'd have been cut off at least three times for 3 weeks plus at a time in the past 2 years. and we're in the home counties, not ruralshire..
i note in the article this...
The Local Government Agency said gritters would be working "around the clock", with many working in tandem with farmers and 4x4 clubs, who have agreed to help shift snow and grit roads.
Now, the same tend to look on 4x4 owners with distaste when not required to help out and the 'public' from time to time tend to cite us as killing the planet.
heck i've towed more stuck cars out of our local roads than i can shake a stick at, i also enrolled with emergency response and spent evening cruising around with HCA's and nurses attending to people that cant get to hospital.
though conversely i've also had the car spat at and keyed for being an earth destroying 4x4 and our transport policy has in the past villified 4x4's by way of tax and fuel duty.
so while it does stick in my craw that sometimes a 4x4 is considered bordering on satanic yet when situations get tough we're called on to do our bit, i still do.
do any other rangie (chelsea tractor) owners feel the same way ?
