there aint no cheap ones apart from making one yourself.

try all the usual LR parts suppliers for prices.

make one yourself from some drainpipe and flexi hose... the only slight expense will be a mushroom or angled head if you want it to look the biz. (£20-£30). type DIY snorkel into google, you get a few hits. nothing about actually linking it to the air filter though... make sure yours is on the side of your air filter to limit the amount of hose and poss problems. (unlike mine, which was done by a plonker before i bought my 90). your looking to seal the air filter off and only draw air through the top of the snorkel. so your hose must be perfect and every joint/coupling sealed tight.

hope this helps

What on earth would you want a snorkel for on a petrol discovery? What on earth would you ever want a snorkel for full stop?

Not only will your petrol powered motor die long before water gets anywhere near the kind of level that your standard air intake sits at, but Land Rover mechanics everywhere will smile to themselves and mutter 'victim' under their breaths whenever they see you.

..ebay is usually as cheap as it gets - or try a breakers...

Series 2 Discos (not sure about S1s) suck air (and ****loads of dust) from inside the front left wheel well, and the standard filters dont handle it that well, and dust gets through into the throttle body to be mixed with your oil and give you those lovely lined patterns in the bore of the cylinder and turn into grinding paste in the rest of your engine. Fitting a snorkel sucks air in up at the windscreen top level well away from any nasty dirt being thrown up by the left front wheel.:D:D
