Hi everyone, I've just got myself a mantec snorkel. The plastic version of the dsv5. Now the instructions have a picture of standard wading depth and a big warning thingy!!!!! I was expecting it to come with some sort of replacement pipe work for behind the wing to the air box but it doesn't. What can I do to waterproof the existing pipe work? Also what else is required for wading, I've got extended breathers for everything and wading plugs fitted. Is there anything else? I know this has Been covered before to a point but i cant find any specific details on sealing the pipework or the snorkel i have.
Vehicle is a 300tdi truck cab.
Cheers for your help

It depends on what engine you have. Td5's have a few issues That 200/300's don't have

Sorry just noticed you have a 300 so you don't need to worry about the ecu under the seat etc

foun this after 2 seconds of googlage...

Mantec Snorkel fitting to a Defender - Land Rover Technical Archive - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

use silicon on all the joints you might want to remove later, including the airbox lid, the other joints remove and use a mastic on reassembly, theres 2 valves to be sealed, one under the airbox (in the lid??) and one right at the bottom. the airbox one, pull the rubber valve thingy off and silicon/mastic a 2l pop bottle cap into, the one at the botton, its got a disc like valve, remove this, apply silicon/mastic liberally to the top face and stick it back in.

you might want new jubilee clips for most of the air hose. intercooler pipes I didnt bother with because A: they need to be airtight anyway, and B they are under positive pressure.

Tim, Thanks, I found that post but it refers to the other plastic snorkel mantec do.
I'll follow your guidance with regards to sealing the airbox etc.
Jay sorry my mistake I edited it after!
