Right... about a year ago when I knew fook all about land rovers I had to change the thermostat for some reason, can't remember why. The thermostat casing hadn't been off for years, got two bolts and had a problem with the last one, did eventually get it out, didn't think anything more of it until I wound the fooker back in and it snapped off.. then I did something really stupid.... spent about two days trying to get it out with a stud extractor and snapped the tip of the stud extractor off..!
Anyway, its still there, filed it flat, slapped a load of gasket stuff round it and put the casing back on with two bolts and its been fine but obviously needs sorting out... So anyway, the exhaust is on its way out and the manifold needs re-fitting but you can probably guess what the studs are like holding it on!
So.. what do you think I should do..? Don't touch anything and keep spraying the manifold studs with wd40 till the exhaust falls off... or have the head off and get it converted to unleaded at the same time?
Either way I don't know what to do so hopefully some of you might!
