Hi All
I have a Y Reg 2.0 Freelander Diesel Auto.

It has been fine for years but just recently after about 50 miles it coughed, spluttered spewed out a cloud of black smoke and began to loose power.

If I start it now it runs ok for a few mins then does the same again.

I cannot find a good garage that will be able to fix it. I live in Norfolk, nearest town is Kings Lynn.

We have a main dealer Hunters (tend to only be interested if you have a new car).
We have two others in the area, both with poor reputations. (Both beginning with 'H' , one currently being persued through court for charging for new parts when none were fitted!) See my other messages.

Could anyone recommend a reputable garage in this area please?

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I have a Range Rover (my fifth ) and a Freelander and would love to find someone that I could take them to without a 'Pencil behind the ear, tut, sharp intake of breath and then speaking to me like my hair colour (Blonde) affects my intellegence!!!

Massive thanks to 'J the Range for his help with my Rangie.... still using the 'Pennies under the bonnet'.

All fine since (touch the Faux Walnut).

Would be very grateful for any help

Thanks

Rozzi.

Also change the crankcase breather assembly too, then check out your MAF by unplugging it to see if things improve. Next check out the injector wiring harness as they go faulty & Landrover sell a modified loom for not too much dosh. Hopefully it won't be an injector as they are expensive.
