smoking disco on startup

hi just bought my first disco it had been laid up for 15 months after replacing inner &outer sills both sides, ball joint indicator bulb it passed mot (nice surprise) but on startup from cold getting blue smoke from exhaust when run till warm it clears nothing at all. any ideas ,would be apreciated

Mine was doing this! It was a combo of the head gasket and valve stem seats. Most of the valve stem seals had fallen apart with age and the head gasket was leaking oil into one of the cylinders. A quck overhall of the head and she was like new again!!

Yeah , valve stem seals . See if some Stop Smoke with platiciser helps , it will only be a temporary fix that will need dealing with properly but it is a handy way of diagnosing .
