I have a round body Smith's heater in my 1961 Series 2A. Two problems: It's a left-hand drive truck, so the heater is right above the gas pedal, and since I live in South Texas, where it's usually hot weather, the darn thing roasts my feet. Question: Is there any problem with me just closing the water tap under the hood so it is not circulating hot water continuously? Thanks!

If you have a tap, no problem to close it. Not all do have a tap.
