Smiths heater

Lads, i have the rectangular smith heater in the cab of my lightweight. The matrix gets hot but the fan is useless, it doen't blow enough air to clear the screen. Has any one fitted a replacement fan in one of these heaters that is more powerful than the original? I was thinking maybe fitting a more modern type one with the vanes instead of the crappy propeller shaped thing thats in there now.

Theres millions on ebay from different motors but finding one that will fit is the trick.

Yeah been doin that for the last three years..........

Take it no-ones tried this then so i'll av 2 give it a go. Just ordered a VW Golf mk3 fan from fleabay, i'll let yers know how i get on.

A fan is very dependant on its housing, excess clearance will ruin the airflow, think about this when you bodge in the VW, try to include the original housing if you have it.
