Hi Freelander 2005 TD4 105K on clock.

Small puff of white smoke when starting from cold. After a few revs all fine. Stop engine when warm restart no issues.
Any suggestions on where to start ? Should I book in for diagnostics or are there any known issues that I can check first?
Someone suggested leaky injectors, but is it 1 or more and at £900 for 4 an expensive swap out !

It could be a glow plug, if the weather is below about 10°C.
If the weather is above 10°C, then it's quite likely an injector is draining down overnight, which is getting burned off when first started.

the Bosch agent in Colchester recon that 100k is about it for BMW M47 injectors and they do a Bosch recon set for around £650, I had a set for my td4 a couple of years ago because it had the same problem as yours and the problem was solved

If it turns out to be a leaky injectors most of the time it is the copper washer needs changing, and the tips cleaning so the spray pattern is good again, you could do this your self, for a little cost.

Sometimes you may have to take the whole of the injectors apart and ad new shims, seals etc,
