HA HA !

My neighbour was buiding a bonfire in his field on Friday, and got TWO slitties and a trailer stuck in the mud. He asked me if I would bring my tractor up and tow them out. TRACTOR!!!!!

I went with my TD5 Disco (traction control) and had both slitties and the trailer out in ten minutes, without hardly even making a tyre mark on the grass!

I told him ... slitty 4x4s are fine for posing and road use, but for off-road and mud, get a LandRover. Basically, if you go off road NOT in a LandRover you'll probably need to ask someone with a LandRover to pull you out.

and did yer have yer pants on outside yer trousers?

The original Michelin road tyres now on 44,000 miles.
I want more of these but apparently Michelin don't make them any more.
Michelin 4 x 4 M&S 105H 235/70R 16 X PC

They were both Toyota things, autos, with quite knobbly tyres, and I towed them out backwards using my front towbar.

Both drivers were a bit silly driving into a field without walking it first.
Flat fields may be flat, and no rocks or holes, but that does not mean they aren't WET, SOFT and SLIMY.

I stayed on the higher drier bits and did the recovery using a 60 foot kevlar rope. They didn't realise that. They just thought the Disco was a miracle. No point in being silly about it!

Engine oil was ..... Ovoline Tractor Universal.

Got another Disco on Sunday .... and old 200 TDI needing a chassis.
Anyone got a 200 TDI chassis?
