hi all after converting to coils this week the ride is great and i can live with the warning lamp,but the constant chimes over 20 mph are getting annoying i am not booked in for the unit to be re programmed until January 6th any tricks on drowning out the warning chimes until then. PS :( Radio isn't loud enough

Yeah

Get someone close to you with a code reader eg, nanocom and turn air off
 
i have unplugged the compressor but am unable to locate a D I Y er with nanocom, My local landrover specialist 4muddyfeet no longer have any diagnostic equipment as they are closing down..... looks like i am going to be demented by the 6th
 
i shall do this now what should i expect to pay for this action carried out? many thanks for your advice i tried a snap on solous diagnostic computer to no avail...
 
if you can handle with wires i can tell you what to do(albeit i hate the guys who are converting the brilliant SLS to coils:D) ...it's about to splice in with a live into the wire which goes to the SLS warning...do you have RAVE?...would be easyer for me to guide you otherwise i have to upload the connector views
 
If its just the bongs that are annoying you, its an easy fix, although it'll affect all alarm bongs.

Remove the instrument cluster surround. The bongs speaker is on the instrument cluster itself - remove the left most wiring connector (its the smallest plug). Job done. You'll still have the SLABS to reset but at least it'll be silent until you plug the speaker back in ;)

forgive me but IMO that's a 'brutal' bodge:mad: it will let you without bongs even when you let the lamps on and leave... my kind of bodge is more 'friendly' as it will act like when the system was set to coils...no warning lamp no bongs...ONLY on SLS...and it needs just a paperclip or a piece of wire

see C0223 pin disposals in the attachment(do not confuse with C0229 there), identify carefully the wire from pin 22(from above...white/orange trace wire, the other similar C0229 connector has a balck/white wire in pin 22 so you can avoid it), cut the white/orange wire and join the side which is going upwards with a live from the fusebox(there's a free spade connector close to the right bottom side of the fusebox wich is live) ...job done...no warning or bongs for the sls anymore

Sh*t... is your's a facelift modell? ...anyway it seems that you have to cut another wire then, it's behind the glovebox, cut the white/pink trace wire which goes from C0655 pin 7 to C0660 pin 10 ... then you'll loose the audible warnings which are related to ABS faults too...but only those, the rest will be on , or if it seems hard for you unplug the speaker as ArcticFox said but then youll not have audible warnings at all... seems quite the same job to remove the glovebox or the instrument pack IMO...your choice...after you set it for coils with tester connect back the wire
