Good evening everybody!
The company I,am working for owns two LR:s one 110 and one SII from 1980. I have the opportunity to borrow the SIII because it is MOT:ed and insured. My deal is I keep it Traffic secure and oiled and all that. But I have driven it for some short distances, and I have found two issues.
1 The carb has a dead spot (really dead) if I stay in the lower third on the pedal the engines just dies, sparks just a little bit on the dark side of the scale not oily, not white, but quite normal. Any Ideas why this happens?
My backbone feeling is that I have to keep the choke on for quite a long time. (It has been many years since I had to deal with carbs)
2 The last time I startet it up it jumped forward ( gear one engaged, cluthch engaged) witch is the probable cause of this? slave or master cylinders or both? After pumpining it twice it worked flawlessly.
The damned thing is in a condition as new, lowmilage is NOT quite the the right description. I will never tell you the milage meter readings before my name is on the registration papers, which I am of course working on.
Cheers
Peter
