WHAT THEY HELL ARE THEY FOR?????

Cheers, free pints for any helpers (that actually help, not trying to get a free drink!!:D

I had a look at the mounting for my steps u have have the L brackets that mount to the disco's out riggers (2 each side) are they missing from your pic.
When the brackets are fitted the step arms can then be bolter on.

The arms on my steps are 90 deg out from the step not at an angle as shown the patten on the rubber and the shape of the step is the same.

Looking in my disco parts catalogue the side step kit Pt No is RTC9507AB or STC8087AA

Regards

The rear arms on are 90 degrees but the others arent. I didnt get any L brackets with them. The arms go along and up into the two 'u' shapes. And then its got the peices of metal which are nearly square with a lip on one side.

I've searched for those part numbers, and the kits are different completely.

The L brackets hang down from the out rigger about 110mm and the arms stick out from the step about 180mm and both are spaced apart and in line with the out riggers.

I don't have any U shapes, the arms have two holes and bolt through to the side of the (inverted) L bracket.

The L bracket has two holes one for the body mounting bolt and one for a nut and bolt that bolts to the side of the out rigger (that hole may be pre drilled and already there).

May be they are for a RR Classic

There the same as mine on my Disco.

A mate of mine modded them to fit, its dark now so i can`t really take a clear photo of the brackets he made, but if you want me to ill take some pics tomorrow so you can have them done.

itll take an hour to make them up if you know anybody that will make some for you, if you want sizes or anything please let me know.

that'd be great if you could. when you said 'modded' them, what did he do?

did you buy them as 'discovery 1 side steps' though?

Tell you the truth i cant remember if they were disco steps but i know for the life of me i couldnt get them to fit thats why i had to get a bit of welding done on them. First thing in the morning ill get under neath with the camera and tape measure, take some pics and measure a few things up and send them to you.

Heres a pic of the bracket Metal, its only a plate welded on the end with 4 holes drilled then bolted to the underneath.

the red lines are where the bolts are

Hi girl,

They are same side steps that i bought from paddock last week and they are very simple to fit as they do not require drilling holes in outriggers.

They just clamp on to the outriggers, you will notice that the 4 hook plates on the brackets have a lip on them and they basically just hook over the lips on the outriggers and all you do is tighten bolts so that the outrigger is clamped between brackets and the plate.

I hope this helps :)
