in that case you have to worry about heat guards etc, easiest thing is just to keep your foot planted when your in water..

as long as the engine is running you can't suck water into an engine.
and if it dies. it's usually because you've sucked water thru the air inlet.
I've not heard of anyone killing an engine after ingesting water thru the exhaust.

my revs dropped once as i nearly stalled, so water got down it a little bit, i just dropped the clutch and planted the right foot, lil bit of white smoke and #### lots of noise so unless you want to be a trucker i wouldnt worry, honestly..

better to have it go up and over the rear axle if your worried about water going back up the eggsauce.

to the OP, Thats what i meant. Rear quarter like WLM has posted, mine is the same.
Higher up than the type you get in front of the rear wheel.

u don't have to move it too far from the original position
Mine runs a Gywn Lewis s/s side exit pipe, it's been on since 2007 and still looks and sounds good. Excellent build quality it has a stainless silencer that mates to the oe down pipe with a rigid fixed 3inch tailpipe, my last 90 had a homemade side exit which used the standard system and no way sounded as good or fitted aswell

I personally prefer the look of having it in front of the rear wheel, just a personal thing really, I made mine out of scrap exhaust pieces and simply came up and over the chassis and out the side, I have got to find a finishing trim piece to go around the body cut still and I may even add a trim piece with a rolled lip to make it look a bit nicer, sound wise I prefer the shorter pipes as well, as for performance wise well in theory the shorter pipe should allow for more power but its so miniscule there is no real difference
