Hello from sunny Chiclana, South of Cadiz!
I am staring at a 1998 Freelander 1.8 which has been standing in my garden for over a year. A friend of mine left it here for my friendly mechanic to repair after it overheated. Someone else had kindly removed the head and my mechanic revealed that he knew the car - because a few months before she bought it he had been asked to fit a second hand head which he declined to do.
Anyway, she can't afford Land Rover prices so it just sits there - and I feel sad.
So, does anyone have any ideas? Is there somewhere I could find a cheaper engine? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - by the way, it's the distributor type.
