i were talkin to leccy board bloke tother week when he were chngin a bulb in the street light otside my house. he were sayin they aint allowed ter use ladders any more cos theyre dangerous ffs.

We had a storm the other day and the junction box on top of the pole started being a firework display so i called em out - chaps standin there in the ****ing rain, torrential it was, soaked to the skin, fiddling round 20 feet up with a live unfused wire feeding 5 houses, sparking away, pitch dark, middle of the night - and he had to do this all from a platform coz "a ladder is considered a bit dangerous"!

Or drape 20 feet of it orf the rear of yer vehuicle like most do yes, that's cus the dangerous guys are planks.
I've used a ladder fur years and only fallen off about every three to four times, but always landed safely, secret being try to get as many parts to contact at same time, it spreads the load.
So to summerize when yer go, get into the full free-fall position as soon as, if nothing else it looks good, specially wif a good yell of yipee kiyeh
