Hi all, I've got the landy bug and went to see a Freelander TD4 last night. Automatic gear box, service history n has MOT til next May. It's got 149000 miles on it, mostly on open road. £700. The only advisory on the MOT was a minor oil leak (from sump probably). Should I buy it? I'm really skint until I qualify next year so I need something reliable to get me through a Highland winter. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Predicated on the fact its got the Jatco box that has prolly never seen a service in its life.

Not the greatest box.

Got a couple of things but he's skint so that will be a no.!!!
 
Hi and welcome! The MOT history doesn't look bad. But i wouldn't be expecting much from any vehicle for sale at that price, but if you get a year or 2 trouble free motoring then came be bad
Did i mention i don't know the first thing about hippos?
I'd want a decent test drive of more than a mile to check gearbox operation and to listen for naughty noises

He said he was Highlands based, that's gotta narrow it down?

Oh I bet you proper listened to mum "don't talk to strangers" "if you don't stop doing that the wind will turn and you'll stay looking like that", I always thought the best one was "just you wait until your father gets home" that was an instant stop what you're doing and think for a moment.

The highlands isn't that vast but every time you find somit to buy its a mission to get there, the roads are full
of tourists & Audi drivers :rolleyes:

Wait till yer father gets home lol my mum would whack you with a shoe across the legs then I was making
a run for it haha then she would tell my dad then he would give ye a slap :(:D
