A couple of weeks ago, when switching the transfer lever to /any/ 4 wheel
mode, the front wheel lights on the console stopped lighting up. It
appeared (from the console) that I was still in 2 wheel mode. The
differential lights would light up (when in the correct position for them),
just not the front wheels.
Later, I figured that this problem seems to disappear if I've been driving
for 30 minutes to an hour. Longer at the moment (due to the cold morning
snaps perhaps?). Sometimes, when they've finally lit up successfully,
they'll start flickering and go out again.
Does this sound like a mere 'sensor' problem, or something more sinister?
Anybody else experienced similar with a Shogun of this age? I desperately
need my four wheels on Sunday & Monday. It's only the 4x4's that get off
the street when it snows heavily.
