Would you swap this series for a 1990 200 tdi Defender?

Cash as well so wondering what the series was worth:rolleyes:

It's got a 2.5 n/a diesel and defender diffs and bobs along quite nicely at 50 mph.:)

I'm very tempted:eek:

No idea of money values, anything is only worth what someone is prepared to pay at the time you want to sell. But I would think a series has more classic/ collectors value than a def, unless the def was a rare or interesting example.

Series are crap, I didn't think so at the time but having owned a Series 1 & 2 (buggered spine as evidence) for many years, avoid at all costs unless you are into pain and torture (some folk get a lot out of pain and torture ). Maybe ok if you have another vehicle perhaps? but not as your sole means of transport. Keep the Defender :)

Personally I would keep the series. But if you want a fender you will need to dig deep in your pocket to get a good one, unless you are lucky. Atm all old landys in all shapes are holding there value or appreciating so you can't loose either way.

Is it exempt tax? ( i can see the reg but im not a number cruncher)
Is it a second vehicle? (your landy)
Do you off road?

Not tax exempt but I get free road tax anyway

Fifty fifty use with car, keeps insurance low with mileage

Been off road once when I turned around in a field:)

I'd say around £1500 but series prices do tend to fluctuate wildly. The damage down the side will reduce the price even though its relatively easy to sort out.

I've seen series in good nick go for £800 and series that look rough go for £2k

That makes sense I've just been looking on ebay and the vary from 500 quid to 4/5k and one at over 7k:eek:

This one is basically sound, the engine is an 11j in excellent condition and is out of my fender, the landy just needs a tidy and some paint or leave it as it is, looks like a landy should:)

You know what the difference is between the comfort and cruising speed of a defender in comparison with that of a disco? That's what the difference is between driving a series and driving a defender.

a 200tdi powered defender would get my vote every day of the week.:)

Cheryl Cole won't be as good in bed as a 60yo porn star I still know which one id rather have.

So are you saying it's a choice between noshing on a badly filled kebab or prying apart a cheese toastie?:eek::eek:

Both those references are pure chip munching class. But I was trying to say fender ugly and a good drive series is so pretty but you sacrifice speed, comfort, music, weather proofing and your hearing to drive one.
