hi, when i go above 50mph and my disco goes over a bit of uneven road ie pot hole or that it begins to shake/ shudder quite violently untill the speed has dropped does any1 have any idea what could be causing this.

thanks for the help.

I'm not having this problem but whenever I'm on a rough road it feels like me suspension front and rear has got very stiff compared to what it used to be.... any ideas?

if you are going quite quick on the rough roads it could be the rebound on the shocks is slowing making the ride tighten up

Hmmm, not going any quicker than I normally do on roads I normally travel on and it was a smoother ride a few weeks ago, it's only just recently things seem to have got "stiff" I just know Si is going to edit that.....

If you were complaining cos it used to be stiff and now it's gone soft I could understand it but to complain that it's stiff is just wrong.:p :p :p

The U/J's have been known to seize normaly after steam cleaning the engine bay as it washes the grease out of the joint, but the shakes as mentioned all the usual stuff include wheel balancing, wheel bearing adjustment, buckled wheel/s (any hard knocks recently?), bulge in tyre carcase, even thick mud stuck on the rim can affect balance.

Dave

Hello There, I have just bought a Discovery, i had to collect it from Manchester, i live in the Wolverhampton area, it was mainly motorway driveing, as i was getting on the slip road to the M60 in Manchester i hit a bit of a bump in the road, the disco shook and shuddered violently, most of the rot dropped of the disco, i was only doing about 60mph, so i slowed down to 40 to 50, it happend another two times, next morning i checked it out, it was the steering damper, it was not connected, the previouse owner forgot to put the nut back on it, now it's re-connected it's ok, but i would check everything, just to be safe. Fred.
