we're looking for a series truck cab for a project, but prices seem to vary so much. what would be a fair price for one?

Who knows? They're not available new so price depends on what's available and how much you want it.
How about just taking a mean of the prices you've seen.

i paid £40 quid for mine from a breaker around salisbury i was looking for one for a while tho
