Series 3 operating temperatures

Im fitting an after market temperature gauge so could someone tell me the standard operating temperature of a series 3 with a standard 2.25 diesel engine fitted. Also what is the maximum reading a land rover engine should get to. I,e red on the standard gauge?

If you keep it in the white bit you'll not go far wrong!

Have you tried shorting the sender end to earth, which should bang it straight into the red?

If it's constantly in the red bit, it sounds as though your sender isn't working properly!!

Because im fitting an aftermarket gauge that ranges from 40-120 degrees i need to know the temperature in degrees. Ive heard operating is around 70 degrees????

Im fed up of trying to fix the standard one lol

Between 65 and 85 degrees will keep you in the white, assuming that your filler cap is rated at 9psi.
