series 3 heater problem

hi all
landy virgin in need of help!
I have a series 3 lightweight.
The Heater was working but now not.Is there an inline fuse between this and the fuses? as heater workes if i run a direct feed to it.
has it ?
if so where is it ?
whats it look like?

Hi,

I am not an expert but I did suffer the same affliction and found the inline fuse at the back of the ignition switch, hiding behind the plastic below the steering column. good luck :)

as i said heater works ie motor runs with a direct feed off battery
also gives me heat (as much heat as series 3 heater allows) when engine is up to temp.but no power from fuse to switch
 
When I got my series bout a year ago I had no end of electrical problems til I pulled out all the fuses, cleaned them and all the contacts up and popped it all back in place.

Everything worked fine for about a week then things started randomly coming and going again...sad to see a grown man cry...pulled the switches out, took them apart, cleaned the contacts, stuck it all back together and no problems since....well apart from the bloody work lights on the back which work when they feel like it.

Only other thing is near the blower you should have a variable resistor thingy so the blower will run fast or slow, mine was playing up so I pulled it out and wired direct to the switch....lets face it when you gonna need the blower slow?

hi all sorry for delay in getting back found in line fuse in engine bay plus cleaned all switches and contacts works like a dream !

unless your death like me then it'll make a noise this is why u should pay attention to all noices before or when you bought the thing

Series 3 heaters rarely work to any great degree! I have even put the extra blade onto the fan spindle, of a new motor, and now.... if its really cold you can just get a tiny bit of warmth out of the damned thing. Now, on my Volvo..........................................................................................
