hello all,
I have purchased a new relay from bearmach and a set of new arms and tie-rod ends which i will fit tomorrow.
I wanted to know how to set up the steering box, as in work out where center is, as i had the steering box drop arm the other day and it was hard to take off so i had to more the wheel to left lock to gently tap off the drop arm, and found out the relay and relay arms were stuffed as well as the tie-rod ends from drop arm to relay top arm so i put the arms back on till i got the new parts that i needed, anyway when i went to install the drop arm i forgot to centre the steering wheel, and i tried to centre it but i think its not centre as when i went to turn the wheel left it wanted to turn the whole way, and i did'nt know how to get the box back to central,

well i wanted to know how many turns with the drop arm off do i need to do to make sure the steering box is properly centered.

i have included a picture,

put steering wheel on loosely turn steering full lock to full lock count number of turns half it and that is where drop arm should be fitted when fitting drag link from steering box in niddel of travel steering levershould facing off side of land rover in line with cross member the other leaver t should be facing straight forword I would sugest you put it altogether loosely turn steerin lock to lock to check all looks ok

ok thanks for that, i did change the steering box over years ago and recently i forgot what to do, just count from lock to lock and half way is centre ok then.
when i did the steering up the other week i put the box out of central and didn't feel right and thats because i had it wrong.

thanks again.
