hi everyone, i have just bought my first landy a 1960 series 2 3.5 ltr v8. after stripping down the diff/half shafts etc to replace bearings and seals and what not,i was wondering if if was possible to convert it to 24 spline shafts from 10 spline without too much hastle,i can do any neccassary machining/welding, etc myself anyone have any sugestions i would really appreciate it thanks ...Damian...

Hi there and welcome.
Why do you want to change it to 24 spline?

I have the same vehicle as you and its fitted with 10spline disco diffs with original halfshafts, had no problems with that setup

i'm not sure really, i noticed that 10 spline shafts taper towards the end where as the 24 spline doesnt, thus making the 10 spline weaker.am i correct in thinking this way, if not i could do with some pointers thanks for youre reply

be better off fitting a rrc 4 speed box and going permanat 4x4 just too much power through the rear axle
i did a convertion on my 2a years ago and went through rear diffs and half shafts like knicker elastic :D
