Bit of a Dilemma here, Chassis just about ready to send off to Galvanisers next week but Just remembered that the bloody Engine Mounts are probably in the wrong place, When I striped it It had a 6 cylinder petrol on it on the Mounts in pics, I am putting a 2.25 petrol back in though so Question is will the 2.25 sit on these mounts or will they have to be moved back as there is marks what look like where they were originally ??
Dont have the engine here to try in as it is at rebuilders, god knows how long that will take.

Very much doubt it.
One would assume that if they are the original mounting points to the right (pic 2) that the
original engine wont sit on the ones welded on now. Id be fitting the engine and box back
in to see where it sits, before welding new mounts on.
I had a series landy here earlier with a new galvi chassis I could have measured it but he's buggered off on a road trip. :(

Thats my problem, dont know when Ill get engine back, could be a week or 2 yet, and chassis is due in next week.
Gonna try and google see if I can find owt.

Tell me what you need and I’ll try to help. I still have the original mounts on my chassis as I will be fitting a 200tdi. Can take some pics or measurements if that helps ?.:)

That would be Great Mate, Just need to know where to fit them on my chassis, if you could get measurements and pics, they need to be moved backwards from where they are in this pic

Sorry it's a bit dark but I've just painted it. Just a quick question but how have you cleaned the inside of the chassis. If it's not clean the galv won't take and seeing as they rust from the inside out that would be the important bit to do.

You should put into large oven to crisp it. Then jet wash out the large holes till clean water comes out. Put back into large oven again to dry out.
The galv company dont normallly dip if there is dirt. It ruins the zinc bath.

All of that needs to be redone anyway, welding is nowhere near the standard required for an MOT, and I doubt if a reputable galvanising company will dip it like that.

Did you say it had a six pot in it when you got it, have you still got it?(assuming it is a LR sixpot)

Fantastic Mate Thanks.

Getting redone , Had my 110 chassis done last time and was in the same condition, so hopefully they will Dip It
