Series 1 gearbox??

My father in law has been cleaning out his basement and has found a couple of landrover gearboxes which he claims is a series 1.

He has told me that these have dip sticks on top. Is this correct for a series 1??

The internals arent know but we are wondering how much would these be worth?? or is it better to scrap them?? They are taking up way too much space.

Any help would be great
