So basically, I am contemplating putting a 200tdi in to replace the 2.5TD that's currently in there. The existing one is fine so I was wondering what the market is like for selling 2.5TD? And how much would I reasonably expect to get for it? Its for about 110k miles on it.
If I do, would it be worth doing a rebuild before I sell to improve ease of sale?

Cheers

Swapping out a good engine isn't going to make you any money on a sale by the time you factor in the cost of a decent Tdi and associated bits.....let alone your time.

With reference to your other thread it's chassis and bulkheads that make the difference between a good and a bad Landy

Thanks for the response. I wouldn't by any means be aiming to make money on it, just offset slightly and saves me having a spare engine cluttering up my workshop :).

But how much difference is that going to make to a vehicle you want to sell anyway?

If you were keeping it maybe but any reasonable Landy will sell regardless of engine type and a tdi is easier to sell sat on the deck than a 19j

Fair point however I am not sure what I will be doing with the landy so if I were to keep it, I'd want an engine that uses less fuel and thus would want to replace the 19J.
Thanks anyway.

All the 19J's at 100k that I have had anything to do with have been knackered or close to it, turbos seem to go about then. Maybe I only get the rough ones to sort out:rolleyes:
