Self tappers!

Hiya, simple question I hope!
I’m putting some door cards on the inside of the doors and need to use some self tapping screws, just a bit worried about the holes rusting, is there any way of protecting from the rust?

I’m guessing if I paint the holes it will just get dragged off again when I put the self tappers in

You could use "rivnuts" instead, m4 should be plenty big enough. You could then paint the holes

Put some grease on the screws, just normal grease will do fine.
It will not be long before they rattle loose anyway!
