Hi

The stitching on a seam on the bottom squab on my passenger seat is split and whilst I could get a new seat, it might be cheaper to get the old stitching repaired.

Can anyone recommend a fabric seat repair place?
It looks easy to remove the fabric from the seat squab, so location isn't an issue as I can post it.

Seem to be plenty about on Google, but you can't beat a recommendation :cool:

Great if she could - let me know what she thinks.
Its just the seam stitching that has come apart..

can that part of the seat be removed easily, as she said that she, or any dry cleaners that do alterations could do it easy, but it needs to be off the seat,

The last time I tried anything like that was when I brought some new net curtains as they were a cheap offer and I thought I would surprise the missus.
Well, the new nets were about 2 inch too long so I dug out the sewing box and tried to sew them up to a shorter length.
After an hour of messing around I gave up and used a paper stapler to hold the fabric together.
Brownie points for me from the missus until winter came and the staples got damp and started to rust and my bodge was revealed :rolleyes:

Here's a suggestion. Have a look in the county adult education classes as it is possible that they do upholstery ones and there will be someone there who would do a small job. I would do it for you willingly but I live in west Wales! With a curved needle it can easily and quickly be done 'in situ', so if you have any plans to come over to Wales for holiday/laning the offer is there.

Spot on suggestion :)

A lady in my street works at the local Further Education college and took the cover into work Wednesday and it came back yesterday all neatly sewn up!
Apparently the teacher used it to demo some special kind of stitch to her students, so everyones a winner!
