Hi,
Can anyone suggest the best way to get the centre seat out? I'm taking all the seats out and can't get at the rear left (as you face it) screw on the passenger side seat, because the centre seat is in the way. I also can't get at the rear screws for the centre seat. I'm guessing you have to remove the backrest, but there's nowt in the manual and I've tried dragging it out from above!!!!
Also, haynes says that the handbrake switch is on the bracket under the rubber sleeve, but it's not there and I've traced the cable, under the seat space, but can't find the switch. When I start up, the engine a brake light comes on for a sec with something like (( )). I'm guessing it's the handbrake switch, but can't find it in the manual?
Thanks for any suggestions.

the warning light will be self checking fluid level in master cylinder i think

My centre seat used bolts, which were incredibly fiddly to undo. I've replaced them with counter-sunk allen screws.

Not sure about the hand brake light switch as I couldn't find one either!

Thanks guys - mine are the counter-sunk screws - you didn't own an 1986 90 before did you? :) I just can't get access to the back 2 with the middle seatback on - must be a way to remove it!!!!

Mine is a td5 but the centre seat was a bastid to remove. In the end I got it by getting under the landy and holding the end of the bolt with a vice grip and removing the nut with a spanner (forget what size ) and when the nut got as far as the vice grips I put it over the nut and kept on with the spanner. It worked for me so try it, or get the drill out.

Mine is 86. It was a real pain.IIRC,the seat back is held on to the frame with 2 screws either side. Once off you can get to the bolts which were rusted solid. Grind em off.
I can check tonight for you for certain as I put a cubby box in it's place and the seat is in the garage.

Thanks Harleyman.
I reckon that if I can get the the seat back off then I can get the screws out -I'll go and look for the screws now!
Cheers

Sorted - got the centre seat out and all the screws bar one for the other seats. Was a bit contorted but managed to get at the bolts from underneath through the centre section and used a screwdriver on top to stop the screw spinning (just). Just one left that's rounded and I'll have to drill out tomorrow night!
Thanks Guys.
