seat belt trim fault

hi, we have a 2006 freelander 2 hse we bought it from a local deal 4 months ago and have just noticed the seat belt is making cuts in the plastic trim on door pillar, went to local land rover and even though they know its a fault and they have repaired quite a few, because ours is out of warranty they are not willing to do anything ,my arguement is surely they should have recalled all the models that were faulty, i contacted customer services and iam waitng for her to get back to me, has anyone else had this problem, if so what did they do.

Hi, had the same problem on our Freelander 2 (2006) also, but it was within its warranty period and they were replaced. However, I have to say that they have done the same again, and the truck is now 4 years old.

they replace under warranty but plastic is soft, if it was hard the belt does chafe and that is a more expensive fix
