hey guys,

patched up the inside front floors and back arches to get me through the winter. what started off as 2 tiny holes in the drivers footwell turned to a big hole. plus holes up the bulkhed of the passanger as well as the back arches. shouldnt go near a disco poking about with a screwdriver, it soon gets scary.
what seam sealer do people recommend and where is best to get it?

also do you put primer on the welds first or seam sealer?

thanks

Tiger seal is a good choice, its a pu adhesive (whatever that means) and you may be able to get the same stuff with a different name from your friendly local bodyshop suppliers, I needed some recently a local spares shop wanted £17 for a tube  and the next week I got some from the van that comes to the local workshops for £4!!

Depends on how long you will keep it.
I just get the cheap stuff from the pound shop and then plenty of underseal on it.

It isn't cheap like but is bloody good stuff. Saying that I have used another cheaper alternative and no complaints from it. Did the job just aswel.

I use an adhesive sealant, we have tec7 here ands great stuff, let it cure an hour and spray on the stone chip, I do spray all joints and welds with galvafroid first before seam sealing though as it gives some protection and a better surface for the sealant to stick to.

thanks,
planning on keeping it as long as poss 10 years would be nice :) , so do it right do it once is going to be my hopeful approach

would brush sealer be easier to apply and neater?

just ordered some brushable yesterday. going to order some tiger seal too as i can always use that on the sunroofs or guttering if i stick with the brushable for the welds.

ill put some pics on when i have done it this weekend anyway as me likes to put pics on threads :D

PU I is polyurethane which is the the gear used to put windscreens in with. Tap up a man in a windscreen van and he will probably give you a tube for the price of a cup of tea. Make sure you ask for the primer as it wil just pull off if you don't use it
