When I bought my Classic I also acquired some replica badges (See my profile picture). At first I was disappointed that the scuttle badge had recessed lettering (as my father’s ‘73 B suffix had plain aluminium with flat letter) but I later understood that there were recessed letter badges (on suffix A I think). Recently I bought a few things off a well known auction site and planned to clean up the scratched and faded flat scuttle badges. I then discovered that they weren’t faded, just some had gold lettering. The parts catalogues only list RTC4737 and 392647, both of which appear to be black lettering. Does anybody know anything about the gold? Was it perhaps used on a particular body colour or for a special edition? My photo shows one black and one gold.
