I'm at a loss at this moment in time. I was working under my series 3 yesterday and found a large number of holes that seem to have appeared from nowhere and now struggling to decide what to do.
One or two are big enough to fit my hand in, 3 crossmembers need cutting out as they are made of swiss cheese, none of the previous welding done to the chassis have been done very well and not sure what lurks underneath said patches.
Don't get me wrong I could repair it, I have the means to take on such a task but part of me thinks I should just cut my losses and get rid. And not anly is the chassis buggered but there's other stuff that needs doing too. Bulkhead needs serious attention and tub supports need repairing, amongst other niggly bits that need sorting.
Only plus side to the series at the moment is the engine and transmission.
So do i repair or scrap? Should also mention a galv chassis is out of the question for now as I seem to be permanently skint.
Any advice, encouragement or **** taking welcome! As I've lost all hope on it ever being roadworthy again.
