Just a word of warning. I've been looking for a nice unmolested 90 pickup for a while now so when i saw 2001 Td5 for a reasonable price i thought my luck was in. The defender was situated in Liverpool but the owners living in Sweden. (slightly odd but explainable by the owners) Emails were exchanged and a possible meeting was arranged. It was at this point they decided they wanted a money transfer via Weston Union sent to myself at the meeting point and a copy of the transfer emailed to them. This they said was to ensure i would be at the meeting point and would save them another wasted journey to the Uk for a buyer that wouldn't turn up. At first look it would seem to be safe, the money would be sent by me to me, blanking out security details like the MTCN number before emailing. Needless to say it's a scam don't trust anything like this it could cost a good chunk of cash.
Wouldn't mind so much but i'd quite taken a fancy to the landy in question.

I had a similar experience, albeit when trying to buy a ride-on mower. It was advertised as a Classified Ad on eBay, funnily enough it was allegedly in Liverpool too! It was an excellent price and I couldn't believe it when he offered free delivery. When an email supposedly from eBay arrived (which was actually from a yahoo account!) requesting payment via Western Union, the alarm bells well and truly sounded.

I suppose the lesson learnt is if it's too good to be true, it probably is!
