I was invited to what was supposed to be an "easy" off road day in the Salzburg region of Austria. When I got there in my trusty defender I was surrounded by pro built hill climbers and some other pretty well modded 4x4's. I had a go at it though and came in 11th in my group. A group of about 13 cars. the only reason I didn't come in last is because a range rover rolled and hit a tree, resulting in the wind screen being popped and so could't continue and a Jeep cherokee having its fuel lines and pump ripped out. Easy day my arse. I only actually managed about 5 of the 16 sections in what turned out to be stage 4 of the Salzburg 4x4 Alpencup.

Anyway here's some pics.

I got stuck up a bloody great hill and started to slide side ways. luchily I hit a tree. had to get winched up but all ended well. only smashed 1 tail light and a wing mirror

He had a wooden leg and the most battered up old Range rover I had ever seen. It was an 85 classic, He was a Classic 85! the old boy gave it a bloody battering up the hill climb sections, rolled it and popped the screen out.
 
there should be some pictures of my defender kickin about some where. un fortunately my friend failed miserably in capturing me in my finest hour and so all I have is a bunck of photos of bloody jeeps. hope fully some of the other folk will have some of the ol girl in action
 
Why thank you. I'm still trying to find some of the other people who were there so I can get some pictures of my landy going through the course rather than just sitting there. unfortunately the bloke wo came with me just sat there drinkin beer holding the camera i cave him, the camera that was specifically for the perpose of taking pics of me. I took the jeeps etc when I wasn't drivin. I tell you; you can't even trust the simplest of tasks with some folk!
