Have just bought a 2013 fl2 gs. It has the radio display screen in the spot where I think the sat nav is usually placed. I would like to put a sat nav in the space either sat over the current display (I know I would not be able to see what radiostation I was on but I could live with that) or take the screen and surround out and put a sat nav in the space? Can I do either and how would I goabout hard wiring it? Thanks in advance.

You can't easily retrofit the factory sat nav as it's linked to several vehicle systems, although I think it's been done.

You could always fit a normal off the shelf sat nav in some kind of housing, covering the ratio display. There are several similar mods done on the early FL2 and D3, which do the same thing.
This was a common D3 sat nav mod, that looks almost factory.
It consisted of a 5" sat nav hidden behind a D4 radio screen trim panel.

Thanks for the reply. I’d be happy with that, it looks good. So the radio display has been taken out. Do you know how easy/difficult this is to do?

That was a pretty common mod on base models of the D3 and early FL2 which have a storage shelf in that location, so there's nothing to remove to make it look factory as the radio display is on the radio itself. The trim panel in the picture was off a D4, which has its radio display in that location, just as yours does.

I'm not sure how you'd go about fitting a similar thing to the later FL2, as removing the screen could well render the radio inoperable.

More research is needed on the subject. You could possibly try the
