Der... :confused::eek::rolleyes:

I've driven the Anibal, which is their latest military offering. Am I right in thinking the 2500 is the civvy version? If so, it's an extremely capable piece of kit. We drove an example against the new Nissan, the Wolf, something called a Toreg (or something like that - can't remember now) and a Pinzgauer. For our customer's specs we recommended the Pinzie, but the Anibal was 2nd place - more robust and better off-road than the others.

Got you now (at last).
Haven't driven one so can't really say. But I know the earlier ones were more or less Land Rovers assembled in Spain with a few locally sourced small bits (like the Minerva in Belgium) and over the years they became more and more local and less and less Solihull. They seem to have kept to the Land Rover principals more than the Defender though. Gotta be careful what I say coz some people get easily upset ;)
Go ahead and buy one - just to be different :)

And how is the Defender not a land rover then?

Not being rude but i think that is a false comment. You can see the heritage from a Series I to TD5 Defender.
