Same old problem

Had problem with my tail gate window again had a look and found that cable had snapped, and plastic guide on motor was chewed up-- anyway had a gut full of problems with it, so i held the glass in the up position and locked it in position by tying of the remnants of the cables inside the tail gate ( dont use the window anyway pain in the butt ) is there a method of getting my wiper washer & demister to run without the window working (perhaps by fooling some limit switch) Mine is the 3 door type with hard roof, i have also been told there is a switch that makes contact with the roof please can you tell me where is this located .

if you have locked it in position, then I assume it doesn't drop the 5mm or so needed to open the tailgate, or have you left it 5mm lower ?
It is my understanding that the functioning of the rear wash wipe and heated window element is conditional on the glass being in the fully up position. This is detected by the lift motor, not conventional limit switches. This is why the tailgate glass has to be calibrated when it is adjusted in any way.

you might have to live with it.

as for the roof off switch, I believe it is in the headlining near the roof clip above the drivers head, for a RHD vehicle.
