Greetings,

Been struggling to get my heaters working in the S3. If I run a wire effectively straight from the battery, to the green/white, green/yellow wires, I get the fan fired up on both speeds no problem (these are the wires that go in to the back of the switch, so they're ok all the way to the heater).

Now the manual indicates that the other wire on the switch should be brown/blue (NU), but I have a brown/orange one there. I also have another brown/orange one with an inline fuse that isn't connected and is just floating nearby. Am I right in thinking that if I run a wire from the orange/brown to one of the green wires that go to the heater, then I should get some action? I've tried running either one of the green wires that go to the heater, to the orange brown wires, including the one with the inline fuse, which I bypassed, but nothing. I've even tried wiring up a brand new proper heater switch.

Any tips much appreciated!

brown wires are positve feed to switches etc if you but feed to switch does it work or is switch buggered easy enough to test with light or volt meter

The feed to the switch should be a brown/blue wire to the upper contact of the switch. You could always run a short wire from the fusebox to the switch...

see attached wiring diagram heater switch feed brown/orange is the in-line fuse o/k

thanks for the replies gents. That wiring diagram is brilliant. I hate trying to muddle my way through the black and white ones!

I'll make sure that other wires are connected up properly before it gets to the brown and orange one. One thing I may have neglected to mention is that some thieving bar stewards tried to nick the landy just before I bought it, and they made a mess of the ignition. I had to buy a whole new ignition switch unit, and I'm wondering if they screwed the red/white wire coming from the ignition or something. Will look again tomorrow hopefully :)

Thanks again.
