There is a 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo Jeep nearby for sale at £4999, it's
100k but has full service history and is immaculate.

Is 100k miles a problem on one of these of should I look elsewhere for
something else?

Thank for all comments.

Isn't it a standard Cherokee. I don't think the Grand was ever fitted with
the 2.5 four cylinder but was fitted with the five cylinder 3.0l.
Both engines are VM built quality units and are good for massive mileage as
long as they have had the proper oil, changed at appropriate intervals and
they have not been abused or overheated. A bit like any other engine really.

No problem with 100k on one of these!

I've got an R reg 2.5TD Grand Cherokee - not too many about - it does the
job and you get the bonus of as much torque as a 4 litre job with the
economy of a diesel.
I use mine for towing a caravan and have taken it to Spain 3 times and the
South of France a few times.
The engine is apparently from the Mercedes stable and the car is made in
Austria.
I've had mine since 2000 and have had it fully serviced. It now has 70,000
and I am getting more MPG now than when I first bought it - strange?

Things to look out for is the air con - can be expensive to repair and the
rear diff - beware of noise.

I can thoroughly recommend one....the only other thing is that if you do tow
with it in high temperatures an oil cooler should be fitted.

Hope this helps

Kevin
